Meantime IT
Good lookers... and smarter than you’d expect!
Even our simple sites are clever!
Now, here's a term that gets bandied about a lot but if you're new to the world of web development it might not mean so much. A brochure site is one that has no - or very little - functionality: it's basically text and pictures.
Funnily enough, although this type of site is where most web developers start their journey, it was pretty much the last type of web development task that Meantime was asked to do. And to be honest, even our brochure sites will have a bit of cleverness built into them somewhere, even if it's just around the contact form.
Accessibility - the big issue for websites...
However, despite their simplicity, there are some vital things you need to consider when it comes to brochure sites. The most important of these is accessibility and you can find some more information about accessibility here.
One of the nice bonuses that you will get from an 'accessible' site is that it is easier for search engines to read it and so will make a huge contribution to your search engine optimisation and, therefore, rankings. In other words, more people are likely to find you.
All our systems are designed to be intuitive and easily navigable, and Dave, our system tester, has a masters in Human Computer Interfaces, which he leverages when testing to raise any usability issues that sneak through.
The bottom line, then, is that even our brochure sites are well designed, easy to navigate, meet compliancy standards and are search engine friendly, what more are you looking for?!
