Meantime to exhibit at Airport IT, Barcelona

Kendal-based bespoke software developers Meantime IT will be exhibiting at the Airport IT conference in Barcelona on 17 and 18 November.

The exhibition brings together heads of IT and operations from the world’s largest airports, and is widely believed to be the most influential event for the airport IT industry.

Meantime’s participation is a natural progression from its work with multiple UK airports, including Heathrow. The company has developed IT systems which manage a wide range of airport operations, including ID booking systems, retail staff training and volunteer recruitment.

Fenner Pearson is Meantime’s managing director. He explains: “Although we’re based in Kendal, we have carved a niche as a supplier of operating systems which create efficiencies and reduce operation overheads for airports. Our first project, to create an ID booking system for Heathrow, was so successful the airport asked us to develop a programme to manage the recruitment and deployment of volunteers around the airport during the London 2012 Olympics.

“We’ve since gone on to create four further systems for Heathrow, and our booking system is now used by six UK airports. Airport IT is the ideal opportunity for us to meet influential buyers in the airport industry, and expand our airport IT systems around the world.”

Meantime is based in Kendal, Cumbria, and operates with ten full-time staff. It was established in 2004, and also numbers local authorities, charities and large private businesses amongst its clients.
